Running autos outdoor in 🇨🇦

Thank you team ethos for giving us this platform to share our mutual love for this amazing plant, culture, and community.

I’m thinking of running some of the multipass autos outdoors this season in the greater Toronto area. Has anyone had success growing autos outdoors? Any tips? Thanks in advance, and bring on the spring!!!

HUGE advantage running auto’s outdoor! We can harvest es early as August 1st in Colorado. I’d run a few different types to see who’s optimum for your environment. Pluto is fastest. I’d recommend Pineapple Runtz or Banana Daddy.

Cheers Colin! Super excited for this next drop. I might even pop them new autos when they get here. Hope to see you and the team up in Canada sometime soon. Keep up the great work!

Banana Daddy auto is going out this year for me. :+1:

How does the banana auto from this drop compare to banana daddy?

Autos are the way to go outdoor. I’m in Michigan so climate not to different.

If you’re dropping your first set now you can get two rounds out of them, they get big outdoor and love the sun.

Here’s some from last year.

5 gallon coco Hempy on that

I’ve done everything in there tho. My first year I did photos in 25 gallon pots and they grew out the top of the greenhouse and I couldn’t get enough airflow.

You was growing using indoor nutrients but outdoor? Coco unless you used amended, I want to grow outdoor first time only grown indoors and I’m trying to get as much info I can for the best way,

Colin, what strains you think is best outdoors? Maine, level one tier 3 so I got all the drops from the beginning and some other stuff, fem, auto, regular, your favorite strains please? lol thanks hope all is good.

Yes you can use your nutrients from indoor if growing in a container. No issues. Personally myself, anything outdoor gets gaia green dry organic nutrient because it’s cheap, it works and helps build soil biology. I don’t think it’s available there but you have many brands we don’t have in Canada.

For a first time outdoor grow , run a few of the auto flowers to build confidence and see which works best for your situation. People will tell you that you only need a 3 gallon pot but i’d use at least a 7 as I don’t like watering everyday.

Best of luck and have fun! :v:

Is that right in the ground? Did you amend the ground first? I was wondering if you could do gorilla type grow and plant right in the ground without amending, has anyone done this?

Thank you, I grew indoor a decent amount and have had great success I just never hit outdoors, I was wondering if gorilla style grow would work right in the ground, I was wondering if it would grow without amending it either, probably but not good right? Don’t have time to build soil or anything, I wondering if I got all the dry organic amendments dug a whole mixed them in planted and watered if it would be good and break down by the time it grows, then top dress in a few months or something, even if I do this I might plant some right in the ground without anything near and see what happens

Never done myself… soil ph could be way off depending on your area. Why not experiment tho?

Personally if I were to go this route, pick an area, dig a hole for 3-5 gallons, fill with peat, plant and top dress lightly.

If you don’t have time to build soil, you can always just fill some containers with peat and top dress dry amendments. Everything eventually goes down to the root zone.

Good luck and report back

I always grew with coco you think that would work like Canuck grows up there in Canada with you guys but outdoor? Probably not spelling it right but pretty sure you’ll know who I am talking about, he uses coco and Gia , he also uses the soil now they came out with that.

This was straight in the ground, but its a garden area that gets new generic top soil.

Bro, we used to get up on the cliffs on the highways and drop cuts in a good space. Biggest worry is deer and others eating your shit. But yeah, gorilla grows are all we really had back then.

No coco, thats for use with nutes. Go straight in the ground. As stated above, ammend the soil and a big hole.

I like the Terp Tea stuff, powder, green and red, thats all i use.
